THE 2K11 RAP-O-THE CENTURY!
The 2012 presidential election,
Things are heated up with the Republican selection.
But Cain dropped out, told it was too risky,
Too many rumors about him getting frisky!
Now we turn our attention to the Occupy Movement,
Striving and fighting for economic improvement.
“I am the 99%” that was their slogan,
But the cops thought they were only kids causin’ a commotion.
Let’s take a trip to Africa, were the Arab Spring began.
Libya, Egypt, Syria, and Yemen all had a plan:
Revolt against the government, freedom’s what they talk about.
After all those years, can’t blame them for acting out.
And finally, the death of a great technical giant,
Started it all in his garage, the man was brilliant!
He made the Macs, the iPod, the iTouch, and more,
It makes me teary-eyed to think Steve Job ain’t here anymore.

I think its good and i like how he rapped about whats going on today and how it talked about real world events
Shane,
ReplyDeleteI am concerned about your work habits. This is unacceptable. I am going to go back and create an exemplar that will guide your revision.
I look forward to reading work that is reflective of your true potential.
Mr. Monahan
Geraldine R's rap entitled "The 2K RAP-O-The-Century" was one of the most fierce horses in this race; that is to say, she may well be the news-rapper to beat.
ReplyDeleteComing in at 16 lines, the allowable limit according to contest rules, she maintains a crisp AABB rhyme scheme throughout e.g. election/selection. Her sense of playfulness and fun shines through in the next pairing of risky and frisky while recounting the melt-down that was Herman Cain's presidential aspirations. The rap then turns to a wide variety of topics, making sure that the rap includes four or more of the year's biggest stories. These topics range from OWS(Occupy Wall Street) to the Middle-East to the death of Steve Jobs, the Thomas Edison of our generation. This rap receives the maximum/perfect score 12/12 and sets the bar high in doing so.
