1. Read and analyze a local point of interest feature from an online publication.
2. Continue drafting features that incorporate both words and images.
3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the three-part caption.

here to read about an LPI. In a comment to this post address the following questions:
1. Does the author Allan Appell use the "bread and butter" of news daylies AKA the inverted pyramid to craft his article "The Water is Safe. Really."? Explain.
2. Identify six questions answered by the article: what, where, when, why, who and how. List them in order of importance.
3. What is the LPI featured in the story? What urban myth or legend is revealled in the comment section of the article? What are your thoughts on this piece of local lore? Can you think of any other fountains or bodies of water that are said to have supernatural qualities?
4. Would you drink from the fountain?
Class Work:
A. By now all food features should be complete consisting of no fewer than three paragraphs, strong examples of descriptive writing (i.e. the inclusion of imagery and sensory details) and accompanied by an appropriate image. Now all students are revising and editing their LPI (Local Point of Interest) features.
Use the middle part of class to be polishing these two pieces of journalistic writing.

Create comments that include three-part captions for the above images (label them appropriately B1, B2 and B3). Remember: catchy lead-in phrase, identify subject(s) using strong present tense action verb and finally include all additional information in the past tense.
