Rooney Mara portrays Lisbeth Salander, a troubled young woman who is hired as a research assistant by a journalist investigating a decades-old mystery. Rooney was part of an American remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and she was the lead actress. Her acting fit the description of all the books and also Stieg Larsson's literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy. Columbia pictures adapted the film and certainly picked the right actor to be lead actress.
