Do Now 3/14/12

After reading and hearing about the proprosal that the governor of ct is trying to prolong our school year and increase our seating time i higly disagree with this idea. not only do i disagree with this proposal but i also think that it is a very selfish act to try and profor on the children of this state. i understand that it would be to try and better our school system and our students learning levels and abilitys . there is already a 44.8% drop out rate in the state of conecticut mostly do to the lack of motivation that students have and also becasue of this rigurous 10 month school year. now do they honestly think that by extending not only the school day but also they school year , that the drop out rate wouldnt increaese rapidly! i can personally say that as a highschool student myself i would be very upset . school stre4sses me out enogh and sometimes feel like i cant tak it anymore and if the we had to spend even another hour in school a day i would seriously consider some other type of learning method where i didt have to sit constintly all day and be lectured for six hours a day for a 180 days which would ultimatly requer unfortunitly dropping out of school.
