Mr. Death

Why was Fred A. Leuchter Jr. given this moniker? If the first half hour of the film charts his so-called "rise," what were his accomplishments leading up to his "fall"?

  1. Fred's moniker was Mr. Death. He rose to the top by reinventing the electrict chair, lethal injection, and the hang man device. Not so sure about his fall, probably because of the lack of use of these lethal torture weapons.

  2. He was given his name because he was behind the dealth penalties years ago. The " Fall " was probably because the death penalty wasn't as commonly used so is job became more irrelevant.

    1. Jared,

Nice use of vocab esp. with regard to "irrelevant."

  3. the reason why he was given that nickname was because he created a machine that kills people. His "Rise" was finding new ways or improving his inventions. His "Fall" is probably that no one uses his inventions or people are finding more humane ways to kill people.

"Fred's moniker was Mr. Death; he was given this nickname because he perfected and invented execution machines. He rose to the top by improving the electric chair, creating lethal injection machines, and rebuilding the Delaware gallows. I am not so sure about his fall, probably because of the lack of use of these lethal torture weapons."
