  I think that some of the proposals are good, when looking on how to improve the quality of our education. I think that increasing rigor is good because some kids need a challenge. Some kids are not given hard enough assignments in middle school, and some factors for being behind in the curriculum would be that they give there students more time then needed to complete an assignment and are not leaning what they need to. Even though some people will protest the over all purpose is to give their kids a quality education. The increase in seat time is good if its by an hour or so, I do not think the increase in school year is good since we are one of the districts that has the longest school years. Waterbury for example gets out in the middle of May generally is there isn't many school cancellations during the year.
