What I know about the Magnet school  lottery is that when you are going to go to a middle schooll, or high school you fill out an application for the Magnet School Lottery. You are given a packet with a description of each school and at the end there is a paper that lets you pick 3 schools. Which ever school the computer picks you to go to is what school your put in. No, I do not think the system is fair because many people do not get into the school that they want to go to. I did the application for the New Haven Lottery when I was in the 8th Grade for high school. I got into this school but was wait listed at my other 2 choices.
