I think the proposed idea of a longer school year (and longer school days) will do more harm than good. If anything students will be more inclined to miss school more and more and rebel. As it is right now, we have a lot of pressure on us in school everyday. We're struggling to get that extra 2% grade so we can go from a C to a B, we're missing sleep slaving over already hours of homework, we're irritable from sitting in a chair for 90 minutes. The governor needs to have several seats. I also think something the government and education officials throughout this whole nation grossly overlooks is the fact that we, the students TOO have personal lives. Some of us have jobs that we NEED to keep, some of us are helping raise our siblings, some of us have health problems, and MOST of us have obligations to attend to everyday after school. And who is the governor to tell us to ignore it all?
